Residues and Consumer Exposure

  • Evaluation of metabolism and residue data:
    • Establishing of a residue definition
    • Setting of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs)
    • Estimation of residue levels in livestock feed, rotational crops and processed commodities based on existing studies and / or appropriate model calculations
  • Consumer exposure assessments:
    • Use of standard models (EFSA PRIMO, WHO, specific national models) on a routine basis
    • Implementation of country specific requirements and higher tier (probabilistic) assessments on a case-by-case basis
